Anemos-Halcyon-Eirene

We had a great family stay, with plenty of tavernas a short walk away serving freshly caught fish. The hosts were easy to reach but never intrusive, and their house is next door. They welcomed us with delicious local sweets, though they were pretty rich for a late night treat. The apartment has two separate bedrooms, a roomy living area with a kitchenette, and modern appliances. We especially liked the big balcony overlooking the turquoise sea and Mochlos with its Minoan ruins. The rooftop pool is handy for a quick dip, since there aren't proper beaches nearby. It gets sandy, though, and was cleaned every other day. Daily cleaning might have helped. Plan on renting a car. The village is rather secluded, the one minimarket has a limited and pricey selection, and there are no decent beaches within walking distance. Also, the mosquitoes are fierce. Shut the bedroom up before bed and go after them. One more thing: you reach the pool from outside, with no direct access from the house.

We could easily have spent a whole week here. The apartment was spotless and well cared for, and the private pool and incredible view of the island made it a special place to stay. Mochlos village, with its amenities, is just five minutes away on foot. A boat trip to the island costs 5 euros. The owner has taken part in excavations there herself and can share some of what she knows. It all made for a memorable stay.

We stayed as three adults and an 11-year-old, and the property had everything we needed. The owners were friendly but gave us our space, and everything was kept in great condition. Our favorite feature was the rooftop pool, with its lovely view, though there isn't much privacy from neighboring properties. Inside, there's a bathroom with a tub and shower, two bedrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen that opens onto a large living room. The terrace is spacious too. Mochlos center is only a three-minute walk for shops and meals.

The villa was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were so kind and helpful, and the village restaurants are only a few steps away.
