We were grateful for the help getting around the road closures caused by protests. Without the owner’s directions, we would have had a hard time getting anywhere. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh ingredients, much of it from the hotel garden, and the jams were amazing. Thanks for taking such good care of us!

Breakfast was simple, fresh from the garden, and delicious. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the owner was very kind and went out of his way to help us. Such warm Greek hospitality.

We'd happily come back. The family running the place are so friendly and really look after their guests. Orange trees surround the hotel, and in April their blossoms smell wonderful. Nearby, Abona is the closest restaurant and serves tasty food in huge portions for a low price.

The ramp to the room was dangerous: its surface was covered in bath tiles and was extremely slippery, and the slope was far too steep. We had to pull our child in a wheelchair over it. The elevator was ridiculously small too, so this place should not be advertised as disability-friendly. The room itself was so small and uncomfortable that it was not suitable for a disabled person. I had phoned to book specifically because I needed to know whether the property could accommodate a disabled family member. The owner assured me several times that a two-bedroom room would have enough space for my husband, our child, and me, including the wheelchair. He offered the same price as the online platforms, but I booked by phone anyway. I regret that, because I could have made an official complaint about his behaviour. He knew we would arrive late, but when we got there he was on the lounge couch watching the TV very loudly. I greeted him twice and he didn't hear me. I raised my voice the third time, he responded, then went back to his show instead of showing us the room. I was shocked, and had to ask again after a while. When he finally showed us, I was unsure about the size and the condition of both the room and hotel. We were exhausted, though, so I tried not to make a fuss and thought we'd squeeze in for the night. Once inside, he hadn't given us a key. Instead, he started complaining that the room wasn't suitable for three people. I agreed it was small and unsafe and asked for a larger room. He said there were no vacancies, even though most rooms seemed empty. I asked why he was complaining if he couldn't offer us anything better, and offered extra money to stay one night in this awful accommodation. He was happy to take it, then complained about my weight and said I'd ruin his mattress if I slept on the bed. My husband weighs more than I do, but he only criticized my weight. I felt he didn't want us there for reasons that made no rational sense. Maybe it was his attitude toward disabled people, his beliefs about overweight women, or frustration at missing his TV show to do his job. I can't say which. We grabbed our luggage, offered compensation for cancelling, which he thankfully declined, and left in the middle of the night. We then drove 2.5 hours home with our exhausted child, risking her health and well-being, but felt we'd be much safer than staying there. I regret not calling the police straight away. The owner came across to me as misogynistic, sexist, ableist, and racist. His license should be revoked.
