Malvasia Traditional Hotel

Room choice really matters here. In the slow season we were lucky to get room number eight, with a lovely outdoor deck overlooking the ocean. The room itself was small but comfortable. Leonie greeted us at reception and was there again for breakfast the next morning. She's an amazing host, almost as if she owns the place. The plentiful buffet had a variety of food for all kinds of appetites. Getting up early to walk through the walled city before it got busy, then having a late breakfast, was an amazing experience. It's a lovely hotel inside the old city walls. Highly recommend.

The rooms had great views and felt very welcoming. Check-in went well, and breakfast was delicious. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

We spent our honeymoon in Monemvasia, and it was phenomenal. The ocean view from the Malvasia Hotel is breathtaking, and its location in the castle is the best. They gave us a magnificent room and even a bottle of wine, and the service made everything run smoothly. Breakfast was a real highlight, with such a wide selection that we ate enough to last until evening. We had a beautiful time there.

We booked Room 10, a sea-view suite with a shared terrace. The room was spectacular, but we couldn't use the terrace as much as we'd hoped. One of the other rooms opens directly onto it, unlike Room 10, and those guests kept their door open most of the time and spread their laundry and belongings across much of the space. Your mileage may vary. The rest of the stay was lovely: our room was spacious and comfortable, the staff very helpful, and breakfast fantastic. We loved this hotel in the castle and would return.
