The relaxed staff set the tone, and we felt at ease right away. We slept very well in a nice room that was just the right size for two adults and a child, with a bathroom that was large enough. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options for 8Eur/person: cheese, ham, omelette, yogurt, vegetables, fruit, coffee, and sweets. There’s good parking, and the view over the island is a bonus. The hotel has a really good vibe.

We brought our son’s family, including three teenage grandchildren, and booked three rooms. The hotelier welcomed us warmly, the AC worked well, and everyone liked the tasty breakfast. Rooms had kettles, cups, refrigerators, updated bathrooms, and plenty of charging outlets. The WiFi was good, and restaurants, the beach, and a market were all within walking distance. The cute town reminded me of the old West in the USA, and the Mediterranean views were gorgeous.

It’s a regular hotel, rated three stars, but it stands out among hotels in its category. The prices are reasonable and the staff are exceptionally friendly, greeting you whenever you walk in. Having lived in the States, I’ve seen plenty of employees who seem not to care whether you’re there. Customer service matters a lot to me, and this place gets it right. People can choose anywhere, and after experiencing this hotel, they’d choose to come back.

The hotel delivers what it advertises. We had a family room with two rooms: one had two single beds, plenty of space for two adults, and the other had a good-sized double plus another single bed for an adult. The bathroom was brand new, with a big shower and all the expected amenities. The sea-view rooms are amazing, especially from the second floor, with breathtaking balcony views of sunrise, Monemvasia Rock and Castle, the bay, and the new little village. Breakfast was simple, decent, and tasty, without a lot of variety, but the gorgeous sea-and-castle terrace made it feel like a five-star breakfast. The hotel also rents bikes at a fair price, 20 euro for the full day as of September 2024, and provides beach towels. You can walk to New Monemvasia, also known as Gefira, as well as supermarkets, lovely coffee places, restaurants, and bars. The nearest beach is pebbly, with remarkably clear turquoise water, and about a ten-minute walk away. The bridge to Monemvasia Rock and Castle is around a fifteen-minute walk.
