Ritsos Guesthouse

Tatiana at the front desk really set the tone: welcoming, cheerful, polite, and so helpful. The lovely, peaceful property is beautifully restored, making good use of its limited space. We booked what may be the smallest room, and still loved it. The towels, pillows, sheets, and even the toilet paper felt like five-star quality. Breakfast was another highlight, with savory and sweet choices that made it hard not to try everything, plus freshly squeezed orange juice, brewed coffee, and more. Yes, the room is small, but you get what you pay for. The property is central and just a few meters from the designated swimming area. We'll book here again when we return to magnificent Monemvasia, a fortress rich in history and a mystical past.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and the room was cosy with excellent value for money. Breakfast was fantastic, served at a traditional kafeneio that works with the guesthouse.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated with stone and castle-like details, and ours had a nice balcony. The hotel is tucked into Monemvasia's narrow streets while still being centrally located. The best part was the amazing breakfast right below the hotel, and it's very close to the only spot where you can swim in Monemvasia.

I found some other hotels while I was in the castle and went to look at them, but I was really disappointed. Walking back to my car, I caught sight of the reception at Ritsos Guest house. I hadn't even seen a room yet, but had a good feeling and went ahead and booked. The room turned out fantastic, super clean, and I slept amazingly. The location was great too, with an amazing view over probably the only part of the castle where you can swim. I'd love to come back in winter and experience the castle then.
