Venti Seaside Adult Hotel

The friendly staff and exceptional service helped make this a pleasant stay. We also liked the room views and the short drive to Monemvasia castle. The bathroom could do with renovation, and the pool was a bit dirty and seemed to draw bugs, so that area needs work.

We spotted the pool while passing by and liked how inviting and well kept it looked, with easy parking, so we booked one night and ended up staying two to explore more. The family running the place were very pleasant, and reception gave us a genuinely warm welcome and was helpful. Our room was clean and the views were amazing. It was peaceful, too. There were fresh eggs from their own supply, plus water, tea, coffee and other basics in the shared kitchen. The room kitchenette was well equipped, and there was a large complimentary bottle of water in the fridge. A lovely touch. We had a fabulous stay and a lovely egg breakfast. We'd happily come back and recommend it.

We booked a superior sea view room with a double bed, but on arrival a staff member said there was a plumbing problem and gave us a basic room instead, with no sea view and two single beds. I saw that all the superior sea view rooms were occupied, and they had no plumbing issues, so it looked like an overbooking. I'd also seen similar reviews about their sister hotel, the Iris, which makes this seem like their usual excuse for double booking. The hotel itself badly needs a major renovation, as the photos show. The pool area looks great in pictures, but in person it's very different and raises many health and safety concerns. If you want a pleasant stay in Monemvasia, avoid this place.

The balcony looks out over the pool and a stark, almost cinematic stretch of coastline, and the rooms are smallish but clean, with simple, stylish furnishings and comfortable beds. The hotel is lovely and small, and I don't understand the negative comments. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was Netflix and Amazon Prime on the TV. A great restaurant, pharmacy and nice bakery are five minutes north by car, with a secluded sandy beach five minutes south. Great value, highly recommend.
