The Mayflower Studios & Apartments

Our stay at Mayflower Apartments was unacceptable. Cockroaches, around 3-4 cm long, were running through the bathroom and living room, and even under the bed at night. We killed one and took a photo as proof, which I attached. This was disgusting and made the place feel unsanitary. There were also power cuts on several days, lasting for hours at a time. When we reported the cockroaches to Booking.com, it took weeks for the issue to move along. Mayflower Apartments management responded very slowly and seemed unconcerned about fixing the problem. The offered compensation was only €20, which felt insulting given what we'd dealt with. In the end, Mayflawer never sent the promised 20€. The facilities were unreliable, the apartments felt unhygienic, and management was dismissive and unprofessional. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone who cares about cleanliness, comfort or basic customer service.

The pool was nice and clean, the gardens were well kept, and there was plenty of parking. The owners and staff were friendly, and we enjoyed staying in the area. My main complaint is that the rooms weren't very clean overall. The bins were changed daily and the rooms got a quick tidy, but the floors and the space under the beds were still dirty. There's also a neighboring property with chickens and a cockerel. If you're a light sleeper, expect to be woken around 4-5am by its crowing. That's not the hotel's fault, but it's useful to know.

We liked the atmosphere and preferred the pool here, which felt more private. My son enjoyed playing with the other kids there. The people were friendly and helpful, and it was in a quiet area that still felt central, with shops and supermarkets close by. There was enough parking on the grass. The rooms had plenty of space and you could cook, but the accommodation is old and could use updating. The heat was hard to manage with just one air conditioner in the kitchen/living room. You can get breakfast at the nearby 3 Stars hotel at a discount, and use their sun beds and pool too.

Our apartment was well equipped, with lots of useful things, and the maintenance staff cleaned it every day, which was a nice surprise. The property has a beautifully kept garden all around it, and there's an olive grove nearby. A fantastic place to stay. I'd recommend it for couples or families.
