Anesis Hotel

We loved our six nights here with our daughter. Everything was close by, and the beach was just steps away. The room was cleaned daily, and we got fresh towels and bed linen every other day. The place was spotless and looked after well. Its traditional décor felt cozy and charming, and the owner and staff made us feel very welcome. The shower was a little small, but that was the only drawback for us.

I was very disappointed by how the owner handled my genuine booking mistake. I had accidentally reserved this property because another village in Corfu has the same name. I got in touch more than 48 hours before arrival, explained politely, and asked whether the booking could be canceled and refunded. The property was fully booked on Booking.com, so the room could likely have been sold again, perhaps at a higher peak-season rate. I understood that a cancellation fee technically applied, but hoped they might be flexible since I contacted them early. The owner only said it was my fault and that I had to pay the fee. There was no empathy or generosity, even though rebooking the room could have meant no loss for the property. A little understanding goes a long way in hospitality, but that wasn't how the owner saw it. I would avoid this hotel.

Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight, with handmade treats from Miltos(the owner). The service was warm and welcoming, and the room was spotless, had everything we needed, and came with our own balcony overlooking the Aegean. My girlfriend and I spent three days at Agios Ioannis, right in the center, with the sea just outside and a view that made it feel like sailing across the Aegean. We’re definitely coming back to Hotel Anesis. They also have a two-person kayak for exploring nearby beaches, which I recommend if the weather is good. 100% recommended.

The owner has a great personality. I stayed in the Small House, which was roomy and had a lovely traditional feel. Its little balcony looks toward the waterfront, just 10 m. away. A great spot for breakfast, reading, and watching the sunrise, with fair prices. It felt like home away from home.
