Dimelal Mikonos Downtown Apartments

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Dimelal. The garden was beautiful, and the large veranda was a peaceful place for breakfast or coffee. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s in a great spot, close to the center and main beaches. We’d stay again.

The apartment owners were really nice, and the rooms were clean. Getting there was a mess, though. We arrived at night, but our prebooked taxi never turned up. We walked to the apartment and couldn’t get into the rooms, then had to walk back through the city. Another driver eventually took us up the hill beside the runway.

Great location, very clean, and friendly. Highly recommend.

There’s an open-air disco right next door, and the music thumps and vibrates through the night until the early hours. In the morning they take down the stage and start again, so the noise carries on. A small wall is all that separates the disco from the property, and the front door has no keys. I’m surprised this is considered tolerable. Hygiene was poor too. The towels were old and dirty, there was dirt throughout the place, and the mattresses were old. If you want to party, don’t care about standards or noise, and just want to collapse on the beach the next day, it may suit you. But I wouldn’t recommend it to elderly guests, families with children, solo women travellers, or anyone saving up for a memorable holiday. I was very disappointed, and this was my only bad experience on an otherwise amazing trip to Greece.
