Hermes

This is our third visit to Hermes in beautiful Myrtles, Kalymnos, Greece. The rooms are spotless, and breakfast is simple but good enough. Cathy, the manager, is wonderful and gives the best service she can. She really cares about her guests, is always smiling, and does her best to meet their needs. I recommend the place with all my heart ❤️

Kathy was there whenever we needed her, and when I became ill, she gave my husband real support during my overnight stay in Kos. She had kind words for us when we got back, too. The room was immaculate, with fresh towels every day, and we really enjoyed breakfast. We also used the pool opposite, which was quiet most of the time. They serve tasty daytime snacks and alcoholic drinks as well. We had a great August stay, and meeting Kathy was a real privilege. She’s a gem, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone.

Kathy, the owner, made our holiday one to remember. She was kind, helpful, and wonderful, with an eye for detail that I really admired. The hotel is just minutes from the beach and has a sea view. Our room was spotless, with a TV and tea and coffee facilities replenished each day. The beds were made daily, and fresh towels were left at the foot of them. We go to Greece every year, but haven’t had fresh towels every day before. The whole stay was outstanding, and you won’t be disappointed if you book here.

I stayed 11 nights at Hermes and had such a relaxing time with Kathy that I can’t wait to return. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel like part of her family. The hotel is spotless, rooms are cleaned daily, and bedding and towels are changed every 48 hours. Jet2 brought me in late, but Kathy and family visiting from Oz greeted me at midnight and got me settled. On the way home on 15/08, the Jet2 transfer was late because of the St Mary religious festival/holiday. Kathy left her family meal and drove me to the port in Pothia in time for the boat to Kos. That’s the kind of care she and her family give. Breakfast is continental style, and Kathy’s cakes, which she bakes every night, were delicious. I booked a Jet2 package based on the reviews, and the stay exceeded them. Myrties is very quiet, with around 9 places to eat and a well-stocked supermarket. Massouri is about a 10-minute walk away and has more choice. There are no footpaths on the island, so you walk in the road, but I found the drivers very courteous and had no problems. An irregular, unmarked white coach goes to Pothia, though the published times are very elastic. It currently costs €3 each way. Taxis are around €15 each way, but sharing with locals makes it cheaper, and I ended up seeing streets and places I wouldn’t otherwise have seen. Boats to Telendos run frequently, take around 10-15 minutes, and cost $3 each way. There are 3/4 restaurants on the island. Myrties beaches are pebbly, quiet, and have sunbeds for hire. It’s a blissfully quiet resort, without jet skis, Para sailing, water parks, or nightclubs.
