Maleatis Apollo

The owner's mother makes excellent focaccia stuffed with wild herbs, definitely worth trying. The owner was friendly and the location is great, but the restaurant's cooking felt very poor and dated. I wouldn't order the olives, and the goat soup was bones boiled in water. Hygiene seemed rather careless.

On Wednesday afternoon I stopped at Apollo Maleatis’s restaurant for lunch and had a terrific meal. The eggplant imam was cooked beautifully, and the service was generous and friendly. I’ll return when I’m passing through Kosma!

We live in Leonidio and often come here for lunch. The salads stay fresh even in the middle of winter, and the lamb and goat are especially delicious. In summer it’s lovely to sit outside, though weekends and feast days get busy. In winter the stove makes the inside warm. Panagiotis and Metaxia are wonderful hosts, serving promptly with smiles and always asking how we’re doing. There’s always a warm welcome and great food.

The owners made us feel like close friends, and the prices were reasonable. We were visiting the area for the first time and chose this restaurant for lunch. Inside, it had a lovely atmosphere, was clean, and the tables were nicely set, with old articles decorating the walls. The food took longer than we expected, but it was worth the wait. I’d recommend it to anyone. Check it out when you get there.
