Hotel Iraklis

We loved our 3 days and 2 nights here after two weeks of sailing, and we’ll be back. The staff are beyond amazing. They let us check in at 930am and stay until 6pm on checkout day. The rooms are big and comfortable, and breakfast has a huge variety for such a small hotel. We walked 10kms along the beach to koloni, then found the bus back would be about a 2 hour wait. I rang the hotel, and the owner came and collected us without hesitation. He also took us to the airport. The beach was lovely, and although people sit across the road, it’s a road with about 4 cars an hour.

A lovely family runs Iraklis, and they’re quick to help with any questions, 24/7. We enjoyed chatting with them in English and even Italian. The hotel is close to mini markets and restaurants, and parking is free. Our room had everything we needed, a spacious balcony and a comfortable bed. Breakfast had all we needed too. The beach is just across the road, with free umbrellas and sunbeds, and it’s a great spot for the sunset. They also lend you free bicycles whenever you need them. It’s worth booking at Iraklis. We recommend reserving directly through the hotel’s website. We’d happily come again and hope to see those lovely people again.

There are a few very good restaurants less than a 5-minute walk away, and it’s a short stroll to Monolithi beach. Across the street there’s a nice little beach that’s perfect for watching the sunset. Breakfast is good, and the village is quiet. This is a friendly, local family-run hotel, and they’re happy to share lots of information about places to visit so you can make the most of your trip. I’d recommend renting a car, since there’s so much to see and do nearby. Very good value!

The family running the hotel made the place for us. Sonia and her brother Yakovos were kind and available, helping from our arrival right through to our departure at the airport. They suggested places to eat and things to see, and offered us coffees and drinks. The place is quiet, with a comfortable room and a wide balcony. Breakfast was good and varied. I don’t personally like filtered coffee, but espresso or Greek coffee is available if you ask. I found it by chance, and it turned out to be a great place with lovely managers and good value for money.
