Breakfast was very good, especially the bougatsa and homemade spanakopita, and we liked the hotel’s aesthetic. The location was good and the room was a decent size, but the building was hot much of the time. Twice we noticed the laundry dryer venting into the building instead of outdoors, making the building and stairwell even warmer. Our room’s AC wasn’t powerful, and even after running it all night, the small room was only almost comfortable by morning. Air leaked through the windows and doors, including the patio door that didn’t close tightly and the unsealed bathroom window. A number of details felt overlooked, with shortcuts that took away from the experience. There was a hole in the shower wall covered with silicone instead of properly fixed, and the bathroom ceiling needed another coat of paint. We chose the Palamidis room partly for its canopy bed, but the canopy was wrapped in fabric to hide its support brackets, rather than draped like in the website photos. We’d consider staying at Kapodistrias Hotel again if at least some of these problems were addressed.

The rooms were very nice and had a nice view, but service was literally unavailable. Breakfast was very weak, with no active service. I asked where I could get my car repaired and they couldn’t answer. I know looking it up online would have been extra help, but that wasn’t possible either. My credit card was charged twice, and no one really responded when I called or emailed afterward. I had to go to the bank to get the money back. My son also left a valuable chain in the room. I asked by phone and email if they could send it to Austria, and said I’d pay postage, but got no response. The two girls at reception seemed to spend all day in front of a screen, very busy with other things rather than the guests. I don’t normally write reviews, but this time I had to.

We booked a two-bed room, meaning two beds in one room, but got a bedroom with just one bed. We arrived with a co-owner of the company, which made the situation feel awkward. Luckily, we’re only staying one night.

The rooms are beautiful and well cared for, and the location is very good, but they’re too small. It’s a great option for a short stay, as long as you’re prepared for all the stairs up to your room.

The hotel is nice and has a beautiful view, but there’s no elevator. Our room was on the fourth floor, so there were far too many stairs. 😓
