Ippoliti Hotel

The homemade breakfast was fresh, delicious, and felt authentic. We stayed in the Superior Attic with Balcony, which was a great pick for relaxing and taking in the lovely view over Nafplio. Everything was easy to reach on foot from this excellent location. A comfortable stay with good food and plenty of charm.

The hotel is attractive and just a stone's throw from the harbor, with restaurants and shops nearby. It was still very quiet at night. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, breakfast had plenty of choice and was good, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was a plus. The service was great too, including staff helping carry luggage to the room. I would have given it 5* if not for what happened. In the middle of the night, I woke with intense itching on one finger and the back of my right hand. By morning there were three red spots that looked like insect bites, and the back of my hand was red and swollen. I showed it to the woman at the front desk and asked to move rooms as soon as possible. The next day I spoke with her again, and she brushed it off as an allergy. I didn't appreciate that response. It felt unprofessional, disrespectful, and irresponsible. It took four days and prescription cream for the swelling and itching to ease. I can't be sure what kind of bug bit me while I was in bed at Ippoliti. But if I visit Nafplio again, I won't stay at Ippoliti.

The attic room didn't feel very cozy. Its furnishings were quite simple, and the heavy wooden furniture made it darker than I expected. We were first given the wrong room, but the mix-up was handled politely. They offered us a room change and a bottle of wine, which we appreciated. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the service was very good. The central location in Nafplio was another plus.

We stayed two nights in Room 301. It was spacious, quiet, and clean, with a comfortable bed, and the location couldn't be better. The staff were friendly and even mopped the whole bathroom during our stay and sprayed the linens with a relaxing fragrance.
