The hotel restaurant had lovely views and the food was good, so it might be worth stopping by for a drink and the scenery. But I would strongly advise tourists against staying here. I felt unsafe every day. The cobblestone route to town is extremely steep and worn slippery, and even as a fit couple in our 30s we struggled to make the trip each day. One of the three elevators built into the mountain still works, and it seemed very sketchy. The other two have reportedly been broken for over a year. I worry that if the working lift stopped, someone might be trapped without service for days. The property may have been wonderful decades ago, but it feels unmaintained now, and the town has lost its charm. Our room was dusty, the plumbing had problems, the bed was hard, and the pools weren't clean. Children we didn't know climbed along the outside of the building and came into our private pool. The pool loungers were very old and had little support. It's sad to leave a poor review when the property probably provides needed jobs for locals, but as a visitor I would avoid it.

The staff were kind and always around to help, and our room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed wine brought to the balcony by the friendly team, with the room's pool and shared waterfall pool nearby and the town bustling below. The views were wonderful, and breakfast was included with the town spread out beneath us in a calm setting. With castles all around, it felt like staying in one, and the builders clearly cared about the details. At night, music brings the town to life. A lovely place if you want to relax away from the city's bustle.

The hotel was a complete wreck, and we left after a sleepless night. There were leaking corridors, dead plants, plastic chairs, a whole abandoned building, and a graffiti covered garage. The restaurant smelled like raw sewage, and there were no guests. It was a disgusting experience, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

We came away liking Nafplia Palace and would stay again. It gave us a quiet retreat above the former Greek capital, away from the nightlife, and with our baby's stroller the lift worked fine for going into town and getting back to our sanctuary. We usually choose independent local places and don't expect the same things we'd expect from a Four Seasons. The hotel is dated, feels desolate, has no WiFi, and is a shell of what it once was. The main lobby was closed when we arrived, but Giannis came over and helped us. My wife had fond memories from a visit 12 years ago, which is why she booked it. From the reviews and what we saw, the owners don't seem interested in updating the rooms or property, while the staff do their best with what they have. Many are locals, born and raised here. If you're after a quiet, secluded room to unplug for a few days, Napflia Palace worked for us. We hope it's still an option when we return to town.

The grounds and pools are beautiful, and the view across the bay at Nafplio is incredible. Breakfast was one of the best buffets I've had, especially on the balcony, and the staff were quick to help with anything we needed. The hotel seems to be doing what it can on a limited budget after once being a five-star place. Our room was incredible in size or feel, but dated, with scraped, scratched wood floors that clearly hadn't been redone in years. Most elevators were out of service, half the hotel was closed, and there was no WiFi, which seemed odd in Greece where you can get it in the middle of nowhere. It's like a four-star stay still wearing its old five-star clothes. Once you know what to expect, it can be a great stay, though the price is high. I liked it and would return to Nafplio.
