Kanale's

When our ferry was canceled on checkout day, Kanale’s offered us another room for the same rate we’d been paying. It was amazing and probably worth far more. They also helped arrange a buggy rental and all the other transport we needed. Breakfast was wonderful, and the laundry came back quickly. Before that, we’d had a clean room with enough space, a great balcony, and an awesome pool. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in central Naousa.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious range of choices and a lovely view when we ate outside. The village and bus stop were just a short walk away, and from the village port you can catch a ferry across to some nice beaches. My daughters and I had a wonderful stay at Kanales. Our room had a charming Greek feel and plenty of space for three, with one bed in a separate area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A great place to stay.

On our first morning, we asked the red haired woman serving breakfast whether the buffet was all there was, since we’d seen online that there was also a menu. She snapped, “WHAT, YOU WANT MORE?” It was our first day, and we weren’t asking for anything unreasonable. There is a menu as well as the buffet, but the servers seem too lazy and miserable to mention it or bring the food. That’s no way to treat people on vacation who have paid a lot to stay at your hotel.

The worst part of our stay was the transfer to the port. We paid around €44 through the hotel, expecting a private car as we’d been told, but it turned out to be shared. It arrived late too, leaving us rushed and stressed about catching our ferry. The way this was handled left us disappointed, since clear communication matters when people are relying on a schedule. We also had trouble sleeping because the room wasn’t soundproofed. We could hear conversations and other noise from neighboring rooms clearly, and woke up several times. The room was a decent size, breakfast options were nice, and Kanales is a charming local boutique hotel, but we didn’t feel the price matched what we got.
