Archipelagos

The only downside for us was the small shower. It was hard to wash properly without bumping our elbows on the doors. Otherwise, we’d strongly recommend staying here. Our room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and room for a fridge, desk, and luggage rack. The A/C and wifi both worked very well. A funny, charismatic man at reception greeted us warmly, showed us to our rooms, and explained the layout. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked nice. The local beach and walk into Naxos town are both quite close. They also lend extra towels and umbrellas for the beach or pool.

The staff were genuinely helpful when I needed an early check-in. They made sure my room was the next one cleaned, and I’m grateful, since some places wouldn’t have done that. The pool was great, with a little bar selling beer, coffee, and toasties. It’s about a minute from the beach, six minutes from a huge supermarket, and around ten minutes on foot from town, a little farther than I’d have liked, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. My room is why I gave it a 3. It was tiny, basic, gloomy, and tired, with grout and sealant that needed replacing. There was nowhere to hang clothes to dry either. It sounds minor, but it matters. Naxos Hotel and Archipelagos are essentially the same place in different buildings, and you check in at Hotel Naxos. I got the impression Hotel Naxos is a bit more £€$.

The view of the mountains and pool from our room was amazing, and the staff were so lovely.

Breakfast was a real pleasure, with lots of fresh fruit and local pastries!
