I should have researched this place better beforehand. The owner is very nice, and the rooms are clean, but the rooms, bathroom and breakfast were all below standard. It might work for one night, though it's completely unsuitable for several days. The room was so tiny there wasn't space for a suitcase, so I had to put mine on the other half of the bed. The bathroom was tiny too, with no shower curtain, so it kept getting flooded.

We spent 10 days at Avra ​​guesthouse and had a truly wonderful time. It's an easy walk to the port and just two minutes from the sea. They clean the room thoroughly every day and change the towels daily. Breakfast had both sweet and savory options, with excellent fresh bread every morning, and Michelis was always there to anticipate what we might need. We felt at home and looked after. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you ❤️

The location is the best part, about 100 meters from the beach and 800 meters from the landing stage, so it's also around that far from the center of Chora. The rooms are a little dated but comfortable, and cleaning and linen changes were thorough. Breakfast wasn't the Italian style we prefer. Prices were more than reasonable for the island in mid-August, though, and the owner, Mikailis, was very kind and helpful, doing his best to meet our needs and make the holiday enjoyable. It was a good experience.

We arrived with very different expectations, and the breakfast was a real letdown. There was no buffet, just a plate with a few bread slices, two slices of salami, three of ham, two of cheese and two hard-boiled eggs. It wasn't enough to start the day, so we had to buy more food elsewhere. Also, watch out for the packaged jams, some were expired! We'd asked for a double room but got two separate single beds, which made the stay less comfortable than expected. The bathroom was extremely small, and with no safety features in the shower, the whole room flooded every time we used it. Payment was cash only, with the excuse that the POS terminal was broken. That felt decidedly unprofessional and left a bad impression. We don't recommend this hotel and definitely won't return.
