Depis Place Naxos Guest House

We booked based on the site's pictures and reviews, but when we checked in they said the hotel was full and moved us to another building a few mi's away. The Depis economy room was older and more basic than the one shown, and had no balcony even though we paid for one. Nothing changed when we complained. The next day the shower drain was blocked, and water leaked out through another floor drain, leaving the whole room floor and our things wet. They apologized and promised a refund if we removed our bad reviews. We did, but got no refund, and they stopped answering our messages. That’s what happened. Maybe you’ll get the room you booked, but if they try to relocate you, I’d reject it and ask for a refund. We were lucky to stay only one night. The economy version needs more realistic pictures.

We booked with Depis Place and Apartments, but they took us to the smaller Hellens Studios nearby. The host was amazing, and the hotel was clean and perfectly located. Depis Place and Apartments communicated well and let us leave our bags while the room was being prepared. The room itself and the hosts were great, but it wasn’t the room shown on the Depis Place and Apartments website, and no one told us we’d be moved elsewhere. That’s why I rated it lower. We didn’t mind because the price was fair, but I can imagine this would be frustrating in season. I’m not sure how the company works, but it might be better to book directly with the smaller hotel, where the price could be lower and you’d know what to expect. I think the arrangement is misleading and should be advertised more clearly.

📢 AVOID! TOURIST TRAP! ❌⛔ Depis studio are very unprofessional and seem to have a policy of deceiving guests. You book and pay a higher price for a well-reviewed, attractive room near the port, then they say there was a mistake and show you a lower-quality room in another hotel farther from the port. This behaviour is unacceptable!

I’m adding this to the comment I left on Booking. The stay itself went well, but after we got back to France I contacted them to request an invoice. They sent three, and none had my first and last name or the dates of the stay, so none was correct. We need the invoice for my companion’s works council, which reimburses part of the holiday cost. I’ve sent three messages since receiving those invoices and haven’t had any reply.
