Naxos Sun Apartments

There was no Wi-Fi signal, the water wasn’t warm at night, and the apartments had ants.

Clean and tidy, and in a great location.

We ended up changing hotels through the travel agency, but I wanted to describe what happened. We’d booked a four-bed room, yet the man showing us around said they only had triple rooms. He opened the nearby room doors and told us to pick one, which felt very unprofessional. The pool was also closed, even though the photos showed it open. The building is fairly near the center but stands alone in a field, with no other buildings around. There was no fence, reception, or security guard, and we only learned at the last minute that check-in was at another hotel. The place was on a gravel road with no street lights, so as four women we didn’t feel safe, especially imagining how dark it would be at night. We’d booked through a well-known travel agency, encouraged by the good reviews and prices. I get that it’s a budget option for people who can’t afford a regular hotel, but the lack of security in such an isolated spot was a real shame. Pay a little more and stay somewhere better.

There were five of us in two rooms. The upstairs double was spacious but nothing special. In the lower room, insects came in from the balcony. Towels and clothes were changed only once every three days, and the toilet paper wasn’t replenished. The pool was closed, and the room didn’t have a refrigerator until the third day, when it was brought while we were out and we missed it. There’s no staff on site. The location is nice and the price is cheap.
