Petradia Villas

Marie and Nikos, who are the owners’ parents and oversee the villas day to day, were the best AirBnB hosts we’ve ever had. We were the first renters, so there were a few small snags on day one, but they responded right away on WhatsApp and in person. We needed a sharp cutting knife and some placemats, and they brought them within an hour. They also had good answers when we asked where to eat or where to find some unusual items. They were warm, kind, and welcoming. My daughters, husband, and I loved them and hope to return, perhaps with more family. The three identical villas at Petradia each have a separate entrance, a concrete yard, and a private pool, with a few plants in the corners. There’s plenty of parking on site. The complex can suit solo travellers, families, and young children, provided pool safety is ensured. One villa also has disabled access. The house is cleverly laid out and luxuriously designed, with a relaxing look throughout, from the crockery to the sunbeds and beige concrete bathrooms. The pool was immaculate, cleaned daily, and pleasantly cool in the hot Naxian sun. It wasn’t too deep for kids. Open slats in the walls let the air circulate and keep a nice breeze moving, especially welcome in the afternoon heat. Outside, there are two lovely covered dining areas. One has an outdoor fridge, sink, food preparation space, and brand new barbecue. The two bedrooms are downstairs, where it stays cool, making for good sleep after the beach or sightseeing. The small kitchen has new appliances and what you need to make easy meals. The bathrooms are gorgeous, with fresh towels and clean linens provided every other day when the cleaner comes. The sitting and dining room is comfortable, though we didn’t spend much time indoors. The villa is three minutes from the airport, five from a supermarket, and ten from Naxos capital, Chora. The nearest beaches and some great restaurants are 10-15 minutes away. The temples of Apollo, Demeter, and Dionysus are within a 15-20 minute drive. Apollonas in the north and some quieter southern beaches are about an hour away. There were no mosquitoes, though repellent was provided. There were lots of flies, but they seemed to be all over the island in the hot season. Two cute, shy cats visited on a couple of evenings. We named the one with a little black beard “Achilles”; both left almost as quickly as they came. We were writing this on the plane, wishing we could stay a few more days. Our holiday in Naxos got off to a bad start, but finding this wonderful villa made up for it. I can’t recommend the villas highly enough. If you’re going to Naxos, book a stay at Petradia Villa!

We had a wonderful six-day stay. Mrs. MARIA greeted us with such joy, and the owners were very warm and welcoming. The location is excellent and the accommodation is awesome. My children loved the pool, and even with a family of six, we all slept very comfortably. The mattresses were clearly chosen with care. I highly recommend it and hope I get the chance to return!
