Medite Kassandra Resort Hotel

The pool and spa were much appreciated, and we got to relax during our stay. Our room was comfortable, clean, and elegantly decorated, with impeccable cleaning service. Breakfast was generous and delicious too. From the greeting to the moment we left, the staff were friendly and professional. I had an amazing experience and highly recommend this hotel for a memorable trip.

The location, natural surroundings, and pool are excellent, but everything else was a disappointment. Calling it a four-star hotel and using “Hotel & SPA” is misleading when the spa has been out of service for four years. It has apparently been “under renovation” all that time, so maybe it'll be the best in Greece when it finally opens. The rooms are outdated and worn down, even the luxury ones aren't livable. The sheets had stains, and the bathroom was falling apart and felt dangerous. The food was a nightmare, especially for a stay of more than a few days. It was the same limited selection each day, often not tasty. The advertised buffet wasn't a buffet, and “Mediterranean cuisine with every day fish” meant poor-quality canned sardines every day. There was never dessert after lunch or dinner, only pre-cut fruit that didn't look fresh, even unpeeled oranges. The afternoon snack was the best food they had, a decent burger, chicken nuggets, or meatloaf. But yesterday they ran out and served no replacement or explanation. People were just left with nothing, which was completely unprofessional. Some of the food servers were reasonably polite, but a couple never smiled, barely spoke English, and looked miserable. Since the food wasn't self-serve, having to take it from them made the experience unpleasant. The owners also seemed to put saving money ahead of comfort. I saw lights being switched off to cut electricity costs. Yesterday they took beach towels from guests without warning, even though until then we had been allowed to leave towels on the beach to reserve a spot in the morning. The worst thing, though, was hotel wastewater flowing straight into the sea at the beach. It smelled bad, and there are loads of little frogs around the pool in the evening. They seem quite used to people, but you have to watch where you step. Cheers to Kassandra Frogs Hotel, we won't be back. You can have lower standards, but you need to be open about the facts.

The staff's attitude was the most disheartening part of my stay. Several people were impolite and discourteous, which is not the warm welcome you hope for on a vacation. I also saw the lights being switched off to save electricity, leaving the place feeling uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The hotel's owners seemed more focused on cutting costs than on guests' comfort. The rooms were another letdown. They looked very different from the attractive photos on booking and travel sites, and the room I was given fell far short of what had been advertised. I had expected more from Kassandra Mare hotel, but the reality was disappointing. The all-inclusive deal was a major disappointment too. Calling it bed and breakfast would be generous. There were only three or four uninspiring dishes repeated each day, very few meat choices, and strict meal times that made it hard to explore or enjoy the vacation at our own pace. I strongly advise others to avoid Kassandra Mare hotel. Between the misleading room photos, limited food, unfriendly staff, and management decisions that seemed to prioritize savings, it wasn't a suitable place for a comfortable, enjoyable holiday.

The food was awful, and I even found hair in it. Restaurant staff were rude, as were the receptionists, except for Kristina, who was genuinely kind and helped make a bad stay a little better. The beach is tiny and dirty, and without a car there’s nowhere else to go. There’s no spa, despite the impression, and the hotel facilities were in poor shape: our room was cramped, the fridge and toilet didn’t work, and the air conditioning barely did its job. It was only our first day and already felt like a nightmare. I’ve stayed in motels that were better. It felt like paying for a prison, not a hotel.
