Nefeli Villas and Suites

We visited out of season, which may explain some of it, but the place felt poorly maintained. The cleaning staff came daily, which was great, and the reception staff were really nice and did their best to sort out what they could. The modern-looking restaurant was a bit expensive, though the food was good and the waiters were friendly and spoke English. We recommend the cheeseburger. From what we saw of other places, the price and location still made this a good place to stay overall. The house looked lovely, and it was pretty, quiet and close to the beach, about a five-minute walk across the road. But a lot of things were low quality or didn't work well: the door mosquito net, outdoor cushions, pool seat and shower head, which had nowhere to hang so you had to hold it. There were also electrical and water-pressure problems, and too few sockets in awkward places. For a house meant for 12, the table only sat eight, and there weren't enough plates or cooking utensils. Some beds were uncomfortable or broken. It felt poorly thought out, which was disappointing.

It's generally a very nice place for families, with a lovely pool that's consistently quiet and clean. The drinks were extremely expensive: a small can of Heineken cost 4.50, while mini markets sell the same for around 1.50 Euro. There wasn't any service either, so we had to go across the road to the bar. They used to have a bell service, and it's a shame that's gone, or perhaps it was only unavailable this year.

The villa has a calm, relaxing feel and seems especially suited to families, with the beach nearby. Staff were friendly and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. They were helpful throughout our stay and made it a pleasant experience.

The receptionist did nothing after I reported the problems the next day. Cleaning was meant to happen every three days, but they came every four. When we asked for cleaning on schedule, or at least for someone to take the rubbish and change the towels, he just pointed out the trash bin and said we could clean ourselves. After being treated that way, we cut our holiday short. The apartment was in terrible shape from the moment we arrived: a very dirty carpet in the living room, smelly pillows that we had to take outside, noisy doors, dirty towels and a tiny, old bathroom. This was the worst place we've stayed so far.
