Red Tower Hotel Lefkada

I stayed five nights at the red tower hotel. My second-floor room had a large balcony and a fabulous view across the bay. A special thanks to the breakfast service staff.

Once you get here, you won’t want to leave. The views in Lefkada are breathtaking, and the people working here are amazing. It’s the best hotel on the island, with stylish rooms and a really nice, clean pool.

The place itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere and everything you see match the description. But a beer at the pool bar costs €7. I’m not even at some luxury restaurant, yet I was charged €6.50 for a beer as a guest, and I just gave them the extra 50 cents. That felt disrespectful.

We paid to stay somewhere else because it was so awful. We left after just one night, and they threatened to sue us for writing honest reviews. The food was disgusting, the pool stayed closed until 11am, which isn’t family friendly, and the road in is dangerously steep. I booked two rooms next to each other so the children could use one and the parents the other. They have rooms that work for this, but gave us rooms two flights of stairs apart. They denied I’d requested adjoining rooms, though I have the emails and phone logs to prove it. They said they hadn’t broken our contract and refused to refund any money so we could leave. The manager said all he could do was email his boss. He told me a lawyer would meet me if I waited until 3pm, but the lawyer never came or even sent a message to say he was late. The manager said he wasn’t allowed to call him. He did say we could switch rooms after two nights if we stayed in the unsuitable ones until then. The lawyer later sent an aggressive email falsely accusing me of being rude, and threatened to call the police and sue if I left a negative review. We didn’t want to stay and didn’t feel safe, so we left without a refund.
