SeaView Calypso

The house sits above a lovely bay on the hillside. Inside, the rooms are clean and nicely presented, and there are two shower rooms and complimentary towels. There's a large terrace with a dining table, plus a smaller one with two chairs and a side table. The roof terrace has a pool of a decent size and depth, six loungers and a brick-built BBQ.

The location worked really well for us: it's about a 15-minute walk down the hill to the beautiful beach at Nisaki, with three tavernas nearby. Mary's was our favourite, and we ate there several times. Athni and Vitamins are a short drive uphill and both outstanding. We also rented a small boat from Nisaki harbour a couple of times and spent days exploring the local beaches. The sea is warm, feels very safe for kids and is great for snorkelling. We had a very pleasant two weeks at Villa Calypso, and may come back one day. We often had breakfast on the terrace, looking out across the bay and hoping to spot the dolphins that show up from time to time. The pool sits above the villa in full sun for most of the day, so the water gets beautifully warm. It's lovely for a refreshing swim once the sun has gone behind the olive trees. The villa itself is lovely too, with fantastic bay views, very clean and well maintained. The rooms were nice, especially the two at the front, which have sea-facing terraces. A few small things could be improved. The small bathroom has no shower curtain, there were no cleaning supplies, and a decent mop, bucket and broom would have been useful. The barbecue didn't have a proper grill, so we had to hunt for rocks to raise the food above the coals.

I was visiting friends who were staying at this lovely, clean, well-maintained villa. The people running it keyed my car at 10am instead of coming to find me and asking me to move it. My car isn't brand new, but it still cost me money, so it left a sour taste.
