My overall impression is that the property is badly managed and overpriced for what it offers. I’ve rented villas in Greece for the past ten years, and this was my worst experience. I wouldn’t return even if they offered me a free stay or paid me to come back. After a long drive through Greece, we arrived to find there was no hot water on our first night. In villa #2, where we stayed, a sewer smell came in every morning, so airing the place out was a must. The owner switched off the AC on a hot day when we needed it. The cleaning lady had asked whether we were using it, and I’d said we hadn’t because the weather wasn’t too hot. The compound is at 615m above sea level, where mountain temperatures are a little lower. I paid for AC, but it wasn’t provided as a service, and there was no offer of compensation. The pool hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. The cleaning lady later cleaned it and then told us we couldn’t use it for 24 hours, because guests arriving a few days later had booked directly through an agency instead of through www.booking.com. It felt like the agency guests were being favored at our expense. There are four villas but not enough pool sunbeds for everyone. If all four are full, there’s no privacy or quiet, and the pool isn’t suitable for that many guests. Lights around the compound, including the pool light, were off every evening when we got back from town. Apparently guests are expected to have night vision goggles to find their villas. There’s no dedicated parking, just a space beside the pathway with no shade, so the car gets like a sauna during the day. Reaching Astros took at least 30 minutes for an inexperienced driver, even though it’s only 7.8 km away. The road is very narrow in places and has many hairpin turns. I counted about 15, with a 15-20 degree incline; at some points it didn’t feel safe to go over 15 km/hr, especially during the day or on weekends. They should make sure everything is clean and working before guests arrive, so all you need to do is message them that you’ve arrived and left. Instead, there were problems from the first night. The property should be proactive about preparing for guests.
