White Pearl Laokasti Suites

At White Pearl Villas, the caldera views were incredible, and the sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking. The rooms felt different in a cool way, built into the cliff with a cave-like feel. Our room was very clean, everything worked, and it was more spacious than expected, with a second living room where I could get online in the morning without disturbing the rest of my family. We stayed three nights, on my second visit to Oia, Santorini. Oia is awesome. It helps to know that cliffside rooms usually mean lots of stairs, and that cats wander around the island and Greece generally. In my opinion, those are part of experiencing another culture, not negatives. There are plenty of photo spots all over the island. Service was great. A porter hauled our bags up and down the stairs, which is no easy job. Breakfast wasn’t served in the room. Instead, there was complimentary breakfast at Luno Cafe at the top of the stairs. The food was good, though the selection was somewhat limited. The manager also called our Quad tour operator to sort out a pickup time and place when we were having trouble communicating. We hadn’t booked the tour through White Pearl, but they helped anyway. Based on our experience, I’d strongly recommend White Pearl Villas if you know what to expect from a hotel in Greece, especially in Oia.

The room was spacious and just steps from Oia, and they brought our luggage up and down at check-in and check-out. Before we arrived, staff were also quick to respond about arranging transfers. Those were the main positives for me. I expected a 5-star stay based on Google and the hotel website, but it felt more like an Airbnb, and I felt a bit misled. Breakfast was listed as included and free in the amenities, but it wasn’t included. It cost €15 at the cafe downstairs, and we didn’t eat there. We paid €60 each for transfers to and from the port, which seemed crazy. Neither transfer was included with what was presented as a 5-star hotel stay. Check-in at the cafe downstairs was chaotic. The attendant offered two rooms even though I’d booked a specific one. The first was the room I’d booked, but the balcony had none of the privacy shown in the website photos. The other room, next door on the corner, had even less privacy, so we chose the first one, already disappointed. People walking past could see through the room window and from the balcony. That would’ve been fine if I’d known to expect it, but there was zero privacy except very early in the morning before sunrise, when we left. On our first night, it was Monday and music from the cafe blasted past midnight, so I couldn’t sleep. The beds were uncomfortable, the room was damp, and without any rugs, going between the plunge pool and the room was slippery. They made the bed, but didn’t fully refresh the room, and our dirty wine glasses were never replaced. We also never got bottled water, which felt off for a supposed luxury stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re expecting a 5-star experience.

The best part was the service, which was top notch. Our authentic cave suite had beautiful caldera views, an indoor hot tub, and a daily 5-star breakfast. We made memories we’ll never forget.

The staff at White Pearl Villas handled every detail with such care. They arranged reservations, stepped in when we had trouble with the car rental, and thought ahead about things we hadn’t even considered. Their kindness made what could’ve been a stressful situation feel easy. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We were there to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday, and the team made the milestone feel truly special. The setting was stunning, but it was their warmth, creativity, and genuine happiness to celebrate with us that turned the trip into a lifelong memory. I hadn’t planned to come back to Santorini next summer. Now, after the way they treated us, I feel compelled to return with my husband and experience that hospitality again. White Pearl Villas is a place where guests feel cared for and celebrations become special. If you want wonderful views and that kind of personal warmth, this is the place.
