The Taverne may look traditional rather than fancy, but it's always worth stopping by. They have tasty Cheese Product from Omalos Plane, good drinks and friendly people. Whenever I'm in Crete, I always have to go there.

A lovely family-run motel with a taverna and excellent hosts. It's perfectly placed for starting the Samaria Gorge walk, and they'll even drive you to the start.

I had a really nice stay. It's peaceful, with basic rooms and good food, and the national park is close by. The Samaria entrance is five minutes away by car. I'd highly recommend it if you're visiting the park and don't mind a basic room.

A traditional place to stay in Omalos. Everyone made us feel very welcome, with the best of Cretan hospitality, while still being discreet. Our room was super clean and really added to our stay. All the facilities are easy to get to.
