Thasos Blue Apartments

The coffee was very good, but the beach bar owner was very rude. They wouldn't let us bring our own water, biscuits, or an apple, and said we had to buy everything from them. Their prices were very high. A few meters farther down the beach, things are much cheaper and better. I won't name the other place because I don't want this to look like advertising for the competition.

The owner made sure we had everything we needed, and we were genuinely sad to leave. Our big family had plenty of room in the apartment and around the property. It was cleaned thoroughly every day. The beach is just across the road, with pine trees all around and lovely fresh air. From the balcony we watched the sun set over the sea. It was quiet, and we could just relax.

The rooms were kept clean every day and there are plenty of parking spaces out front. The beach is right across from the property, with lots of pine trees giving it a natural feel. We even saw dolphins daily. At the beach bar you can use the sunbeds if you buy drinks, and the service there was friendly and excellent. A little shop and a couple of taverns are nearby; I especially recommend Batis tavern. For anything beyond that, you’ll need to walk to the port or drive.

We only managed one night before leaving, even though we’d paid for a longer stay. The apartment looked nice in the photos, but in person the place felt very outdated and noisy. We told the owner we were leaving because of the weather after she kept asking why, but the room was the real reason. The beach wasn’t cozy either: it was long and narrow, with no bay nearby, and the sea got deep right away. We wouldn’t recommend this side of the island. Our ground-floor room was small for two, smelled musty, and had a very old bathroom. We could hear guests in other apartments because the walls and door barely blocked sound, and we didn’t feel we had privacy in the room or on the balcony. We won’t return.
