Skites Hotel Bungalows

We booked this hotel hoping we could stay in for meals and swimming, but it was really only suitable for sleeping. We ended up spending the days elsewhere to find what the hotel had promised but didn't provide. It was very disappointing, especially since it had good reviews, and we could have booked a better room for the same price. We stayed in July 2023. The road to the hotel was rough and left our car dirty, and the rocky sea wasn't pleasant for swimming. The restaurant and pool bar were closed. Breakfast was meager, just bread, cheese, honey, drinks, and some fruit. There was no TV in the room, the toilet leaked, and the WiFi was very poor. Our room wasn't cleaned daily as it was supposed to be, and staff complained when we took clean sea towels each day, saying we should use the same ones for the whole stay.

A very clean place with good service. I liked that there were no children during our visit. The location is great if it suits the kind of traveler you are.

This secluded three-star place keeps things simple. It isn't aiming for luxury, but has a laid-back feel shaped by its past glory and eclectic glamour, blending nicely with the neighboring nature preserve. A good escape from Ouranopoli's bustle and mass tourism, though that comes with high-season prices. It's away from the center, reached by an accessible dirt road. The 15-20 minute walk is no fun in the summer dust, so you'll want a car. A small road runs through the property, with bungalows uphill and, down by the sea, a private garden, pool, and old wooden deck for watching sunrises and sunsets in a very peaceful setting. The beach is pebbly with big rocks. Breakfast was good, and lunch or dinner is available on the terrace from a modest, tasty but expensive menu. Our bungalow was spacious and clean, with daily housekeeping. My Yorkshire terrier was allowed for €8 a night. I loved the king-size bed, but the room, especially the bathroom, could use a makeover. A staff member seemed hesitant when we checked in, though the service was polite and efficient under the constant presence of the hotel's German owner.

It's cozy, quiet, clean, and well maintained, with a private beach, pool, and shady green yard. Breakfast was good, and the sundowner cocktails were nice. It's close enough to Ouranoupolis, but far enough away for a proper rest. It's not luxurious, just a really nice place to recharge. We're planning to come back next year.
