Yulia Luxury Apartments

The rooftop terrace has a beautiful view, and the apartment is centrally located. It's on the small side, but cozy. We stayed four nights, and there were some real problems alongside the appealing first impression. Viktor greeted us warmly when we arrived, showed us around, explained how things worked, and shared local tips that were useful. The next day, though, someone downstairs began shouting at another person in Russian around midday. I'm Russian, so I understood what they were saying, and it was unpleasant. The argument went on for a while, with things being knocked over, and made me very uncomfortable. We were the only guests in the accommodation at the time. The walls weren't soundproof at all, and we could hear everything in the hallway too. Over the following days, neighbors moved in on both sides and smoked constantly. I know that's not the apartment's fault, but smoke came inside whenever we opened the balcony window. We kept it shut and tried the air conditioning, but even after Viktor adjusted it, it blew hot air instead of cold. We felt stuck choosing between being cooked or smoked. The mini fridge was also very loud at night. At some point the bathroom developed a strong smell. We couldn't tell if it came from the ventilation or the drain, and couldn't get rid of it. There was nobody around when we needed help. On our last morning, the shower went cold, so my boyfriend went downstairs, but nobody answered the door. This had happened several times before, even though someone was home, and it was very frustrating. As we left, the argument seemed to have started up again. Viktor was sitting outside on the terrace watching us get into our car, but there was no goodbye. I understand someone might not want to talk right after a disagreement with their partner. Still, I think a host should greet guests and see them off properly, and set personal problems aside when welcoming people.
