Paradise Apartments

We had a great experience overall. The staff were very kind, and check-in was easy even in the middle of the night. The location is lovely and there’s plenty of parking. The rooms are clean but quite dark, and staff come every day to change sheets and towels. A few things were missing, like blanket covers and soap, but they gave us soap when we asked. There was no mosquito net either.

Palaiokastritsa is beautiful, with beaches, places to hike, shops, bakeries and restaurants all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. I’d recommend having a scooter while you’re there. It’s a good base for seeing Corfu, whether you’re after quieter resort towns or bigger towns with more bars, restaurants and shops. The accommodation is well placed, about 10 minutes from the beach and close to everything. It’s a bit outdated, and sometimes there’s no hot water, but the owners are great and housekeeping came daily with fresh bedding and towels. If you’re looking for somewhere budget friendly, this fits.

Paradise studios worked out to be great value, and it’s easy to get around on foot. It’s a short uphill walk from the main street and a nearby mini shop. Our studio had everything listed on Booking, including a private balcony, air conditioning, bathroom and kitchenette. The lovely hosts keep the property clean, and the rooms are cleaned regularly too. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it. A lovely extra for us was the family of cats on the property, a mum with two kittens and a male. They’re strays and don’t have an easy life, but kind guests are looking after them and topping up their food and water every day. We love cats and dogs and have pets of our own, so we hope to see them grow up healthy. If you stay here, please don’t be shy about sharing a picture of them. 🤍💚♥️

Be careful with this property, and don’t book it on Agoda. We booked an apartment there, but when we arrived the owner said she had no contract with Agoda and only accepted bookings from Booking.com. She said the same thing had happened to other people and that she hadn’t been told about our reservation. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Agoda customer service trying to sort it out. I handed her the phone and she explained what had happened, but the property is still listed and she hadn’t done anything about it. I couldn’t find a single post about this issue on Agoda either. When I told her customer service might call, she didn’t seem to care. She said she had to go to the pharmacy and eventually left us on our own. A well-intentioned owner could have helped resolve this much faster. Instead, when she heard we’d booked through Agoda, she said, “Oh no, there were 20 other people like you, what a shame.” That didn’t feel like real hospitality. We were lucky to get a full refund from Agoda and find the last room at another hotel, though it cost over 30% more. I still didn’t trust her. Be careful with this property and never book it on Agoda.
