We were two families with three children, and found the villa comfortable throughout our stay, with no issues. It was spotless down to the details when we arrived, the first place where we didn’t need to clean a surface ourselves. The cosy backyard was lovely for breakfast or a drink after a long day. The old Cretan traditional house has been recently renovated and made the most of its potential. It’s spacious and has everything you need, so just bring your clothes. Right in the village center, it puts everything within a couple of minutes’ walk. I highly recommend it, though the neighbours are quite sensitive to noise, even though they are Greeks.

Granny's Olive Mill Villa is a holiday home in Palekastro village, 7 km from Vai Palm Forest, and a 9-minute walk from the beach. It also lies 750 from the beach. The villa has free WiFi throughout, free air-conditioning, and a terrace. There’s a dining area and a kitchen with a fridge and stovetop. Towels and bed linen are provided, and there’s a private bathroom with a bath. Out back, the garden is a nice place for breakfast or dining, relaxing, reading, or sunbathing, and there’s also a front veranda. Activities nearby include windsurfing, diving, and fishing. Sitia Public Airport is the closest, 14 km away.

Granny was lurking nearby and hit me several times with a baseball bat. I only managed to get away by sheer luck. The beds are comfortable, by the way.

We were welcomed very warmly. I spent a week in this small Cretan studio, which is well located and has a lovely terrace, close to the shops in Palekastron.
