Hotel Papigo

I booked three nights, four days total, through booking. The hotel is dated and not very clean. The owner was friendly, though sometimes the constant talking got tiring. The price might look appealing, but I found it too high for what we got, and I do NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. There was a broken door left in the hall, with spiderwebs in some corners. Our bathroom was unclean, with hair in the shower, and paint peeling from the ceiling corners. The blankets didn’t seem to be changed or cleaned between guests. Some towels didn’t feel fresh and had a stamp on them, and the same was true of the sheets. The carpets in the room were very dirty, as if they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Breakfast was listed as included on booking, with a charge included in the price, but we didn’t see any breakfast. The night before checkout, the owners asked us to leave early the next morning. We didn’t mind, but it’s worth mentioning. One last important thing: when we asked to pay by card, the owner said the POS wasn’t working. We paid cash even though we’d have preferred not to. I saw an ATM in the village, but it would’ve been very unpleasant and disruptive if we hadn’t brought cash.

The rooms were cozy, the breakfast was simple and good, and the place had a homely feel. The hosts are a lovely older couple with big hearts who are willing to help. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend it. I don’t know why anyone would give them one star. That feels really unfair.

A wonderful couple look after the place and are always ready to help. The people are especially kind, and the rooms, surroundings, and living room were all great. Everything was lovely!

Yiorgos runs the hotel and is a wonderful person. He made our stay even nicer. The accommodation was fantastic, super clean and comfortable, and great value for money. A great host.
