Mikro Papigo 1700 Hotel & Spa

The veranda restaurant served excellent food. The mountain resort is in a surprising spot, and it’s beautifully designed and well kept.

The surroundings were beautiful and breakfast was excellent, but we left the next morning because our stay was so disappointing. We’re a couple with a child, and when we visited last week, we were given a tiny room with no view and an old, dirty cot. The room hadn’t been renovated and felt outdated. Its mattress was so worn out that sleeping on it was impossible and terrible for your back. The bathroom was tiny and not suitable for an average person, and there was hair on the floor from previous guests. Almost all the furniture was broken, especially the glassware, which was dangerous for a child. They offered us another room only after we left the next morning. The owners have a bad policy, and the place is extremely expensive for what you get.

The next day, we checked out and told the hotel about the shower problem and the lack of reception. We got an apology but no compensation, and still paid the full price. We wouldn’t recommend it. It’s advertised as a 5-star hotel, but our experience didn’t match that. The room was small and didn’t feel luxurious. We asked for an upgrade, but there was no one at reception at check-in or at any point during the day. We told the staff member who helped with our luggage, but nobody followed up. The shower kept switching between boiling hot and freezing cold, making it unpleasant to use. The pool was tiny, more like a plunge tub. Staff said the spa was run through an outside partner, if you could find them and arrange something. Breakfast was basic and below what you’d expect from a hotel marketed as 5-star, though we didn’t complain about it.

The rooms were clean, and the location and view were really nice. For the price, though, the experience was average at best and sometimes bad. Rooms were small, with a tiny closet that couldn’t even fit your clothes. The bathrooms were very small and disappointing, nowhere near luxurious. The website doesn’t show pictures of them, which is why, in my view. There’s no soundproofing if you stay in the main building, and the staff weren’t professional at all.
