A friend and I booked this villa for my birthday, our first trip to Paros. The photos looked amazing, and we thought it was a hotel. I messaged to say our flight landed early and asked if we could arrive around 7 a.m. They said yes, and their messages had been kind. But when we landed around 6 a.m. and asked through Booking for a ride, nobody replied. Taxi drivers refused to take us, saying the area was dangerous and nobody went there. I was pregnant and already feeling unwell in Paros. After I begged, one driver agreed to try taking me and my friend Shlomo. The drive was frightening. The villa is on a mountain with nothing nearby, and what they called a road was an ash road. The driver shouted at us the whole way, had a small accident, and we were scared. I just wanted to arrive. There was no car entrance at the steep uphill site, and we didn’t know how to get in. I got out and went upstairs to look, but nobody was there, and there wasn’t even a lobby. I knocked on the windows. Going back down, I fell on the hill and got hurt. I was pregnant and started feeling worse. The driver felt sorry for me, came up to help me back into the taxi, and offered to take us somewhere else until they answered. I sent hundreds of messages. Valentina finally replied around 8 or 9 a.m. I told her they shouldn’t have told me to come there and explained what had happened. I said it was too dangerous for me while pregnant and I couldn’t stay there. Hans then dropped us at a hotel, which we paid for until 1 or 2 so I could rest. I knew I wasn’t going back. Valentina got back to me an hour later and said she couldn’t cancel the booking. I offered to pay a cancellation fee, but not the full price of the stay when I wasn’t going to stay there. She told me to contact the manager, George. I called him several times, but he didn’t answer. Since I’d booked through Booking, I contacted them because this was wrong. A month and a half later, I’m still fighting with Booking and the villa. They told Booking that I behaved badly and stayed there for one night. I sent Booking all the correspondence as proof that I didn’t stay and of what happened. I tried contacting Valentina and George again over the past few days, but they haven’t answered. I travel all over the world and this has never happened to me. Disgusting!

We spent a week at PiliPala and really didn’t want to leave. The room was very clean, the view was stunning, and the pool and deck areas were amazing. The staff went out of their way to meet our needs, and we’ve already booked again for next summer. Thanks for giving our family such wonderful memories. See you soon.

You’ll definitely need a car at Pili Pala Suites. The villas sit on top of a hill with beautiful views, and access isn’t the easiest, but having a pool means you don’t need to go to the beach every day. They’re tastefully decorated, with a kitchen that has basic amenities and a very small fridge. There’s no dishwasher or washing machine. The staff were accommodating and quick to respond whenever we needed something sorted.

A fantastic place for a holiday with toddlers too. The rooms are very comfortable, with tasteful decor, and the island views are lovely. It’s quiet but still close to the beach. Highly recommended.

The place is up in the hills, away from the main routes, so you’ll need a hire car. I think that’s a good idea for Paros anyway, since it’s a large island. The views stretch for miles, and the property is very clean and well maintained, with daily maid service. The few issues we had during our seven-night stay were handled quickly. What a lovely place, I can definitely recommend it.
