The villa itself is lovely, but the hosts were quite unresponsive. We had a big family and small children, and with a 9 pm flight we asked about checking out late. Having to leave by 10 am was nearly impossible. Be aware that the airport transfer cost 70 euros. We could have taken three taxis directly from the airport for 30 euros. A car is essential too, since the villa is isolated and Pastida town is about a 40 minute walk away. The internet barely worked during our 10 days there. If you’re travelling with children, make sure they’ve downloaded things to watch, because streaming won’t work. The satellite TV was okay if you speak German, as all the channels were in German. When I asked about English channels, I was told the server blocked them, which I don’t believe, since I think it’s a paid service. The beds were hard as rocks. I slept on the floor a couple of nights because it was more comfortable, so if you like a very firm bed, you might be fine. Some afternoons we couldn’t use the pool because there were so many wasps hovering around. There were also lots of ants in and around the property. The air conditioning had to be left on all day with all the doors open, and the shutters needed to stay down to keep the heat out. There was no unit in the main TV room, which was a shame because we’d been looking forward to enjoying the views in the morning. Dogs came and went in our villa all day, barking at night, and a cockerel crowed from about 5 am until 10 am. All in all, it was a terrible experience, and I won’t return to this villa. I love Greece, but wish I’d booked a hotel. For what we spent, we could have stayed at the Atrium Plaitinum in Ixia, where we stayed the year before, and hired cars for free.
