Marpunta Resort

The beach is right by the hotel, with small pebbles, and it's handy that you can borrow a SUP or kayak. The pool is nice, though sometimes it was hard to find a sunbed. Food quality was above average with a good choice, and the pool bar had an excellent range of drinks and snacks. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they were very good with our little dog too. I'd recommend it if you're after a high quality all-inclusive stay.

There are three lovely beaches, a pool, and a separate children's pool at this 4-star resort. The beach has plenty of room, and both the snack bar and pool bar are great, with an impressive range of drinks. Each day's menu was different, with excellent food and lots of variety, and the staff were extremely kind. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms and authentic Greek style, just as pictured. The resort is uphill, so getting to the rooms can feel tiring after a week, though it's a good workout. We rented a scooter from reception for 1-2 days, which I'd recommend for discovering the island's many breathtaking beaches. This resort deserves 5+, and it's worth every penny. You won't regret choosing it.

Lazarus and his team took great care of us, and we had a wonderful stay. The grounds are beautiful, with stunning views, and the complex feels unique while still offering modern comforts for a relaxing visit. All the rooms are at the top of a short, steep hill. That wasn't a problem for us, and there's a golf buggy to take you up if needed.

There are lovely, clean beaches, and with guests spread around the resort, neither the beaches nor the pool ever felt crowded. If you enjoy snorkelling or diving, there's lots of fish to see up close in colours from grey and blue to red, yellow, and green. Watch your feet at one beach, where sea urchins sit on some of the stones; bathing shoes would be a good idea. The resort is quiet, with pine trees, flowers, and plants all around. It's peaceful on the beaches and on the small hill where the rooms are, great for reading on the balcony and watching the sea and sunset. Our room had a perfect sea view. Staff at reception and the restaurants were friendly and gave us plenty of tips about Alonnisos and nearby islands. We enjoyed the food, especially the many different desserts, although the buffet overall wasn't very varied. The rooms are some distance from reception, the buffet, and beaches, but staff will drive you up to your room if you ask.
