Adonis City Hotel

Everything is within a few meters of the hotel, which sits right across from Ktel Patras Bus station: supermarkets, food deliveries, bakeries, banks, whatever you need. But most of all, it's the people who make a place. Thank you, Adonis Hotel, for making me feel at home. I've been here for three months and keep extending my stay, even though I meant to leave. The family who run it are superb, always smiling, friendly and ready to help. The cleaning ladies do more than expected, and my room is always neat and clean. The ladies at the bar are magnificent, and the 24-hour reception staff are exquisite.

We booked two rooms on Booking.com, but on arrival the man at reception said there were none left because of overbooking. They sent us to nearby Hotel Atlanta instead, and unfortunately it was a terrible two-star hotel. We were told we could return for breakfast, which we did, but the food was very poor. I wouldn't recommend it.

The rooms were affordable and cleaned every day. They weren't at all as dirty and disgusting as some earlier reviews made them sound. The girl at the hotel bar was wonderful, big-hearted and funny. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but it was good. I follow a special diet, and it warmed my heart that they'd made sure there was something I could eat.

We've stayed three times and plan to return. The service is always good, and the rooms are clean and modern. The hotel overlooks the bus station, which is handy when we're travelling back to Zakynthos from Athens. It's also well placed for the station and restaurants for dinner.
