Villa Salvia

The outdoor dining spot became our favorite place, with a huge table and barbecue right beside it. The views were fantastic, and it was incredibly quiet, with no cars passing all day. Inside, the house was even prettier than the photos, clean and roomy, with plenty of spaces for a group to spend time together. The kitchen was big and fully equipped, with enough breakfast supplies for the first few days and all sorts of coffee available. We also loved the large room’s built-in bathroom. The good-quality sheets and towels felt luxurious, and the fans were a welcome choice for us since we don’t like air conditioning or keeping the windows shut. The hosts were so welcoming, giving the children gifts and treats and staying available whenever we needed anything. They really made an effort to help us enjoy our stay. Getting there was easy too, the directions were accurate. The house is centrally located on the island, so we could explore all over Crete. We reached Chania and Sitia at opposite ends, and the southern beaches were very close and easy to get to. There’s genuine Cretan food at the village tavern. Archanes, a traditional village about 10 minutes away, may be the most beautiful village in Crete. It has nice taverns, a museum, and even an open-air cinema. Heraklion is just 15 minutes away. We’d recommend the house to families and groups of friends. Thanks, George and Anna, we’ll be back!
