Apanema Mindfulness

The owners and hosts are exceptionally hospitable and clearly take pride in what they’ve created. I’ve stayed in these gorgeous, truly peaceful villas several times over the years, and the amenities, facilities, and quality of the dwellings are second to none. This little retreat is special: untamed nature right nearby meets the calm of the small village next door. The valley and surrounding mountains are breathtaking. It’s a blissful place to unwind and be mindful, a true gem in the cool mountains of Lefkas. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Apanema Mindfulness, a peaceful place where it’s easy to unwind and have a relaxing holiday. The estate is full of plants and flowers, and the air smells lovely of oregano and lavender.

David Whyte, the poet, introduced me to “genius loki,” the spirit of a place. Being there felt like magic, and I know that magic lives there, but it lives in me too. Bringing that energy together helped me grow, learn, and find a community of like-minded souls. I felt wrapped in a constant hug, with time to listen to my heart and feel my body. I rarely return somewhere for a second visit, but Apanema will be one of those places.

I’ve spent several weeks at Apanema across multiple visits, and it’s pure bliss. This isn’t a typical vacation stay. The focus is on quiet and peace, a place to retreat and “quiet the inner chaos.” Zvika offers Qi Gong in the mornings and afternoons in a small zen garden, guiding it with sensitivity. If you want to talk or just share tea, Anat or Zvika are always there. For me, time stood still. I returned with a different mindset and tools to handle what life has thrown at me. If, like me, you need to get away and find yourself again, this is a magical place.
