We stayed five nights in this modern, clean, very comfortable apartment, which was only a few years old. The balcony was superb. It’s far enough from the road and village to stay quiet, but close enough that everything is just five minutes away. A supermarket, butcher, and baker are all within a minute on foot, and a great beach is three minutes away. Two sun loungers cost 15 Euro for the day, with the proceeds going to the lifeguards. Restaurants, bars, and shops are a five-minute walk. Plakias has everything you’d want for a holiday, and Zambia apartments made the stay even better.

Manolis and his family were very friendly and helpful, and the apartments are modern, lovely, clean, and nicely located. A few practical things were missing, maybe because the place is so new: more room for towels in the bathroom, somewhere to put jackets and shoes, a doormat, and clothespins for the laundry. Thanks for the hospitality!

We won’t stay here again. We were constantly killing bugs, and one night a picture fell off the wall onto us and its glass broke. We told the owners, but they didn’t seem to care and didn’t address it. We stayed at two other places in Crete that were absolutely wonderful, which makes it a shame that this was the place where we spent the most time.
