Galini Apartments

After a long day driving, I arrived to find cake, doughnuts and bottles of olive oil from the family farm waiting for me. The oil was delicious, and the family who run the hotel are just the sweetest. I loved having a sea-view room with a big balcony, plus a kitchen where I could keep snacks and make my morning coffee. Everything was fantastic, I couldn't have been happier. Thanks so much!

The view is spectacular, and the host was excellent. The apartments are spacious, with great beaches and natural gorges about 15 minutes away and Plakias a 10-minute drive.

For a lazy sun, sea and sand break, this place is easy to recommend. The apartment sits in an olive plantation, with lounge chairs if you feel like doing nothing, and parking was fine. Inside, the beds were comfortable and it had the usual amenities. It was relatively clean, though pulling the sofas out once in a while for cleaning would help. The landlady was friendly and good with the kids, and the view was beautiful. Plakias is only five minutes away by car, with a supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, meat and fish markets, plus plenty of bars and restaurants. If you want more than the beach, there are aqua, subaqua and boating activities, and trips to Preveli beach. One drawback is the location on the south coast: if you're touring the whole island, it's not ideal, since it takes 30 minutes just to reach the island's only main road. For a sandy getaway, though, it's ideal.

Cookies and Raki were waiting in the room, and we were given olive oil as a parting gift. The place was friendly, clean and spacious, and it's well placed for visiting the different beaches nearby. I'd gladly come again.
