They billed me for damage the day after I checked out, even though I didn't cause it. I was the only guest staying there at the time, and I feel they're trying to get money from me because business is slow in the low season. Avoid this hotel. I disputed the charge with Agoda and reported the property to my credit card company as fraudulent. The card company's investigation team has opened a case into the charge and the business practices.

I paid for a two-bedroom apartment, but was given a small one-bedroom instead. The owner's response was basically take it or leave, and after the first booking period we were made to leave despite having five more paid nights. I got no reply from the owner before the stay either. The whole thing was a mess and made for a very unrelaxing holiday. Don't book this place through Agoda.

I left feeling anxious and unsafe, and had to pay for one final night at another hotel with no compensation. I stayed from 14-19 April 2022. The owner had taken money from my account even though I'd selected pay at property, which I did, and I had thought the charge was only on hold. The owner refunded it, then asked for it back, saying the bank hadn't sent the original payment. I refused because the money was rightfully mine. He threatened to throw my belongings out and throw me into the pool. I wasn't alone and can prove what happened. Later he said I'd had my refund and that was that, which meant the bank had shown the money had indeed been taken. Booking.com washed its hands of it, saying it only enables bookings and has no control over the money. What was supposed to be a relaxing holiday turned into a nightmare. Don't book through booking.com or trust the owner of Athina Suites Platanias.

We booked the suite by accident, but ended up quite pleased with it. It was recently built, very clean, and everything worked well. The pool serves just 6-7 suites, was never crowded, and was cleaned every 2-3 days. The beach is 100 m away, with plenty of nice restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. Platanias itself is a very clean, tidy village. Highly recommended!

We spent 14 days here on a family holiday. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable and nicely modern after the renovation, and the daily cleaning was to a high standard. The cleaning lady deserves congratulations. It's a very quiet place with a nice pool and sea view, and the accommodation felt high standard and good value. I'd definitely come back.
