Effi Apartments

Effi, the owner, is a ray of sunshine. The apartments are high standard and spotlessly clean, with cleaning every day, and even the shared areas smell lovely. We had a wonderful stay, with direct beach access and a shady place to relax. Thank you for hosting us and for the memories!

I paid the full amount upfront, then had to cancel three weeks before arriving because of the war and unexpected flight cancellations. I politely asked the host to cancel the booking right away, so there would be plenty of time to find other guests. Sadly, despite the exceptional circumstances and the early notice, the host wasn't understanding and wouldn't offer a refund. I'm very disappointed by the lack of empathy and flexibility in such a difficult situation. Future guests should know the host sticks strictly to the cancellation policy, even when circumstances are beyond your control.

The family who own the hotel make you feel like one of their own. Effi’s has an atmosphere I haven't found anywhere else on Crete, even after more than 10 visits and staying in different parts of the island. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and now they offer a good breakfast too. It's right by the ocean, and waking up one morning to the sound of waves was magical. Can't wait to visit again!

The room was roomy, with a little kitchen and a nice balcony where I could have morning coffee and dry beach towels. There’s also a lovely garden and outdoor space with a beautiful ocean view. Effi was fantastic, kind, accommodating and service-minded. Effi Apartments is stunningly located right on the beach, perfect for an early swim, a full beach day or a late-night dip. 12/10, I'd definitely recommend staying here in Platanias.
