Indigo Mare Hotel Apartments

We spent a few lunches at the restaurant and enjoyed the food. The portions were really generous, there were lots of choices, and the fish was fresh rather than frozen. At the beach, two sunbeds and an umbrella cost us €8, and we were also given two small bottles of water. Guests could use the pool too.

For a three-star hotel, Indigo Mare Hotel in Platania, Crete was excellent overall. We stayed from 16-23.4.2025, and found the rooms spacious and clean, with the facilities and gardens all well kept. The service was great, and the hotel is right on the beach, so it was nice to eat and have refreshments at the beach restaurant or spend sunny time by the pool. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, with something for everyone to eat and drink. The price was affordable, and we recommend the hotel.

The evening sea views from the restaurant terrace were magical, and we really felt at home thanks to the wonderful, helpful staff, especially the manager. The buffet was very good each night, usually with three main dishes, vegetarian choices, sides, and dessert. There was fresh watermelon every evening, plus plenty of delicious yogurt and honey and different cakes. The hotel is right by the beach, near lovely restaurants and supermarkets. You can walk to agia marina or catch a bus to Chania and further up the coast from the nearby stop. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds and a large terrace for evenings outside. The air conditioning was easy to use and worked well, which mattered with our toddler in the summer heat. The pools were well maintained and great for splashing around.

The staff in the restaurant and kitchen really made our stay. When we suggested food or sauces that weren’t on the menu, they were willing to prepare them, and didn’t even charge extra for what we asked for. I’d give them seven stars for that alone. We had a nice studio with a small kitchen. There’s no room service or minibar, but that wasn’t a problem for us because the pool bar was open from 7:30 am to 10 pm and the restaurant until 9 pm. Direct access to the beach is another real plus. It’s a very good place for a vacation.
