Villa Annaniko

The villa itself is beautifully designed, with lovely pools and great views, but the arrival and management were frustrating. It was listed as a five-bedroom place for 10 people at a set price. When we arrived at check-in, only two bedrooms were clean, and we waited an hour and 15 minutes while the rest of the house was cleaned. The owner had apparently planned for just four guests and charged extra when he learned our family was larger. Since we had paid for the whole villa, we expected all of it to be clean and ready. The cleaning was rushed while we waited, and there was a dead rat near the pool that smelled foul, plus a baby scorpion in our shower. We also couldn't arrange the early self check-out the listing said was allowed. With an early ferry to catch, we had to leave at 6 am before the property representative arrived so we could return our rental car in time. It's a truly beautiful villa, but it could be managed much better.
