Despite the good location and kind staff, we wouldn’t choose this place again. There were too many problems for the room to be worth the price, though maybe we were just unlucky with the one we got. The AC leaked and made an irritating drip sound constantly, so it was hard to fall asleep. The bed wasn’t much help, and the pillows were extremely uncomfortable unless you like very hard ones. Thankfully, the staff kindly gave us a better pillow. The freezer smelled so strongly of fish that opening it made the whole room stink. The shower took a long time to warm up, and the toilet flush leaked constantly and made noise at night. Sound carried badly too, so we could hear people leaving rooms and talking in the corridors.

I booked the hotel six weeks ahead. Less than two days before I was due to arrive, the host called to say they couldn't accommodate me for technical reasons, and had no room available for the following month. Even after I asked several times, they wouldn't explain what the technical problem was. There were no hotels available on the island, so I had to buy extra ferry tickets. Since they canceled within 48 hours, I couldn't get a refund for those tickets either.

For the price, this was fantastic value. It was affordable and well located, and I stayed with four friends. We weren’t sure how check-in worked. We happened to run into a staff member coming in, and he showed us to our room. I’m not sure what we would have done otherwise. He also helped us understand that the electricity turns on with the room key.

We had everything we needed for a short stay, plus a lovely sea view. The staff were very kind and willing to provide whatever we asked for. An excellent stay at Poros.

The walls were solid, so we never heard the neighbors. WiFi and hot water were both very good, and Christina occasionally left us a lovely treat. It’s good value and set away from the noisy streets, while Kanali and Asana Beaches are just a short walk away. Room 38 had a large private balcony with a good view.
