Helen Hotel

A lovely family-run hotel with a calm, welcoming feel. The staff were so friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Our clean, well-kept room had everything we needed, and the pool was a great place to relax. The location works really well too, just a short walk from the beach and near shops and restaurants.

I had a very frustrating experience trying to book directly through the hotel website. It crashed while I was making a reservation, and no confirmation email arrived. I emailed right away to ask if the booking had gone through and mentioned that my preferred dates were no longer showing. They replied a full day later to say they’d received the booking. By then, I’d booked somewhere else and immediately told them I no longer needed it. They ignored that cancellation and never told me I’d be charged. Weeks later, I found the full amount had been taken from my credit card without warning. On the check-in date, someone called asking why I hadn’t arrived, which made it seem the cancellation hadn’t been recorded or acknowledged in their system. Yet later the owner emailed saying I had cancelled under the cancellation policy, so the call was confusing. Only after I disputed the charge did they send a screenshot of a supposed confirmation. I’d never seen it before, and it looked like a capture from a back-end system. Despite asking several times, I still haven’t received proof that an actual confirmation email was sent. With the website problems, poor communication, ignored emails, and contradictory replies, I can’t recommend booking directly with this hotel. Their handling of the situation was unacceptable, and I’d urge others to think twice before trusting their booking system or customer care.

We spent 7 days (6 nights) there with our family, including my wife and our 2 kids, age 2 and 6. The room was amazing, the food was very very good, and room service was excellent. Everything we wanted was close by. It’s a family business, and they care so much about their guests. We had no complaints and are already planning next year’s vacation.

Helen Hotel is right by the beach, with direct access to its private beach, so I could go for morning shore walks, midday swims, and sunsets easily. The pool is beautiful, with clear water and elegant landscaping, and the cushioned sunbeds were really comfortable and adjustable. Great for reading, napping, or just enjoying the sun. The rooms were comfortable, with brand new aircon units in every bedroom, a huge widescreen TV with Netflix, a safe, an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. The beds were incredibly comfortable after a day out. Breakfast every morning was a treat, especially the delicious omelets and perfectly made coffees. The ocean views added to it all. From the moment I walked into the lobby, staff greeted me warmly and were always ready to help. My stay at Helen Hotel was spectacular, and I’m already looking forward to going back. The modern comfort, scenery, friendly service, pool, beachside setting, and lovely breakfasts made it a memorable trip. I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.
