The room at Hotel Pavlou was filthy when we checked in on Friday, 10/24/25. Someone’s soiled tissues were in the bathroom bin, the hand towels had already been used, and the sheets had marks from a stranger’s bowels. The mattress was exposed, stained, and dirty. The only blanket was stuffed in a closet, clearly unwashed for some time, and had a sticky, semen-like substance on it. We started itching during the night, found multiple bites on our bodies, and realized we had to get out the next morning. We later had to deal with bed bugs for the next week and were covered in bites. It ruined the rest of our vacation. We paid extra for a sea-view balcony, but construction next door meant constant noise and dust. We couldn’t sit outside on the balcony or at the beach. There was no one at the front desk many times when we went down, or the person there didn’t speak English, so we couldn’t get help. The only staff we saw seemed to be an elderly man and a child about 5-6 years old. We tried several times that morning to talk to someone, but the only person around was at the restaurant and spoke no English. We left the key at the front desk and booked a different hotel after just one night. The place seemed to have stopped taking care of the property for the season and was severely understaffed. I’ve traveled extensively and rarely leave hotels, but this one was extremely dirty, neglected, unsafe, and not worth the money. They refuse to refund us, and we’re still fighting it, even though we stayed just one night and left with bags full of bed bugs. Do not stay here unless you want to sleep in a bed marked by someone else’s bowel movements.

The food was absolutely delicious, compliments to the chefs! Everyone on staff was so kind and there whenever needed. The owner was always ready to provide the best quality service at the best price. I had one of my most interesting experiences staying at Pavlou Hotel. Thank you all, it was really lovely meeting you!

We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, right on the beach, and has amazing views. The restaurant food was delicious and excellent quality. We highly recommend it.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but spent most of our days in Poros at the beach bar and restaurant. The free sun loungers were a plus, and both the food and cocktails were at a much higher standard than elsewhere on the island, while still being extremely reasonably priced. Service and hospitality were great. Georgio Armani, Julia, George, Alexei, and the other two waitresses, whose names I regret we never got, always made us feel like important customers. Definitely recommend coming to the Thalia at the Sea if you’re spending time in Poros.

The front desk girl was very friendly and super helpful, and the beach bar served very good food at reasonable prices. The beach itself was very nice, apart from some little fish and a few not-so-little ones nibbling. The hotel is right by the water, with dedicated loungers and umbrellas if you get anything for 5€. The rooms were clean, which I appreciated, but badly need renovation, especially the bathroom. At 165€ a night for a sea-view room, the condition was really disappointing and hard to accept, even if we were only there to sleep. The location is really what you’re paying for.
